The Lexington Residence embodies aspects we encounter regularly in achieving a design based on simplicity. The residence is a New York City loft with a scope that primarily focused on reconfiguring the loft into two bedrooms, a defined living room, a bathroom renovation, refinishing of the floors and installation of new recessed lighting throughout.

The clients were concerned with achieving a level of sophistication for their loft renovation given that their budget was a factor. This residence also needed to be adapted for a home office which included updating the electrical wiring for office equipment.

Given these factors, defining décor characteristics were enabled through dimmable lighting, material use, and color and hardware selection. The painted wainscoting defined contrasting exhibited throughout the apartment. The plumbing fixtures and doors, throughout the loft, were fitted with new polished nickel plated hardware. The accent walls around the bathroom tub and kick plates were finished with a brushed stainless steel sheeting. Contrasting modern spaces with traditional fixtures, also, added to the sense of décor.
