THE CENTURY RESIDENCES EXTERIOR

Our design for the Century Residential Tower is a first in high rise home design of its kind for the developer. At 42 stories, this sustainable structure brought the rarely introduced condominium building type to the Century City skyline at a grand scale. The stringent code and energy requirements of Los Angeles paired with the various site constraints made for a challenging project. We incorporated an oval tower design and skewed it to the urban grid in order to maximize planning within the site geometry and improve surrounding vistas. A precast paneling system was surmised as a viable, elegant and durable solution for the tower.

Set within a 4 acre lot, the landscaping design is by Pamela Burton and features, walkways, outdoor rooms and fireplaces, pergolas, fountains and terraced gardens. Great pains were taken to conserve over 100 large palms trees originally on the site and transplant into the new landscaping. The vegetation populating the gardens are specified native and drought resistant plants.
